How the result is calculated
The browser samples multiple horizontal and vertical scanlines, recognizes the 95-module EAN-13 symbol and validates its check digit. A leading-zero EAN-13 is also reported as UPC-A. It does not decode other barcode formats, query product records or authenticate an item.
