How the result is calculated
The browser decodes the complete bounded source and multiplies each mono or stereo PCM sample by the selected gain. With clipping prevention enabled, the effective gain is reduced when the measured peak would exceed the digital limit. The output is uncompressed WAV, and loudness perception can differ from sample peak.
